Tuesday, July 8, 2025, a concert dedicated to two fundamental voices of 20th-century music for the series Notti al Castello
On Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at 9:15 PM, at Castello San Giorgio, we present the concert L’ordine e il caos. Cage e Reich, due poetiche a confronto, in collaboration with the Conservatorio “Giacomo Puccini” della Spezia. This initiative is part of the Notti al Castello program, the cultural event that animates summer evenings in La Spezia with performances combining history, art and music.
Two composers, two paths
John Cage and Steve Reich have charted two of the most significant trajectories in American music of the last century. Both have influenced generations of composers, visual artists and choreographers.
An immersive program
The concert is entrusted to the LabMusCont ensemble of the Conservatory, under the direction of Maestri Elio Marchesini and Andrea Nicoli. The repertoire ranges from minimal and hypnotic works to ironic scores, featuring unusual instruments and domestic settings—a proposal that complements CAMeC’s experimental spirit and the interdisciplinary nature of contemporary music.
