Engraving and printmaking workshop between gesture, listening and experimentation
CAMeC, 9.00 pm | Booking required
A workshop where marks can be heard and sound takes shape. Il Segno sonoro is a practical and immersive experience designed to introduce participants to drypoint engraving on tetrapak through an experimental approach that connects artistic gesture and sonic dimension.
During the three-hour session, participants will engrave the matrix directly before printing it on cotton paper, following a process in which image and sound intertwine. The result is a collective and multisensory experience that transforms the workshop into a space for listening, making and sharing.
An open experience for everyone
The workshop is open to all and no previous experience is required. Its aim is to offer a first encounter with printmaking in an accessible and engaging context, inviting participants to experiment freely and be guided by listening and making.
Curated by DRASTIC • STUDIO
The workshop is led by Serena Gattini and Maria Chiara Dimartino, artists and founders of DRASTIC • STUDIO, a Sarzana-based practice dedicated to research and production in graphic and sound arts.
Graduates of the Academy of Fine Arts of Carrara in Graphic Arts and New Technologies for Art, they have developed for years a shared practice that combines sound, mark-making and performance, ranging from electroacoustic experimentation to multimedia installations.
In 2023 they founded DRASTIC • STUDIO, a space also open to social engagement, where engraving and printing become tools to explore sound perception and the sonic environment. Their research moves between visual and sound arts, creating hybrid devices and participatory practices that actively involve the public.
