A più mani. Imagining a city together

On Saturday 26 September, Alisa Yoffe leads a workshop at CAMeC for children aged six and over, exploring her approach to image-making and creating an imaginary city together.

Can you draw by leaving part of the page empty? On Saturday 26 September, from 5.00 to 6.30 pm, artist Alisa Yoffe, who is spending September in residence at CAMeC, invites children to explore this very idea. During A più mani. Imagining a city together, participants will experiment with positive and negative space, drawing on a distinctive feature of Yoffe’s visual language: black creates shapes and figures, while the white areas deliberately left untouched become part of the image itself.

A city made together

The starting point will be the city: buildings, streets, squares and details from the urban environment children encounter in their everyday lives. By observing and transforming them through drawing, each participant will contribute to a large collective work created together with Alisa Yoffe. A new city will emerge from the meeting of marks and empty spaces, observation and imagination.
