From 6 to 10 July, we will curate a week of workshops for children as part of the summer programme promoted by the Cultural Services Department of the Municipality of La Spezia
Once again this year, the Civic Museums of La Spezia will accompany children through the summer with “5 Musei in un Castello”, an initiative promoted by the Cultural Services Department of the Municipality of La Spezia and designed for children aged 6 to 11.
The project offers a calendar of creative workshops, games and discovery activities, designed to bring children and families closer to the city’s cultural heritage in an engaging, participatory and enjoyable way.
Castello San Giorgio becomes the starting point for a journey through art, history, archaeology, creativity and the memory of the city. Week after week, the Civic Museums will bring together different languages, collections and fields of knowledge, turning summer mornings into opportunities for learning, socialising and imagination.
The week curated by CAMeC
From 6 to 10 July, we at CAMeC – La Spezia Centre for Modern and Contemporary Art will curate the week’s activities, with a programme dedicated to contemporary creativity, hands-on experience and the exploration of different artistic languages.
The activities will lead us into modern and contemporary art through play, observation and the transformation of materials, giving participants the chance to create small personal works and develop a freer, more attentive way of looking at the world around them.
Colour, marks, recycling and nature
We will begin with a workshop dedicated to ultramarine blue, before moving on to zentangle, creative recycling with ScartiAMO, Land Art between art and nature, and decorations with washi tape, the decorative adhesive tape originally from Japan.
Marks, colours, recycled materials and natural elements will become tools to stimulate imagination, concentration, observation skills and environmental awareness.
When and where
The workshops will take place from Monday 6 to Friday 10 July, from 8.00 am to 1.00 pm, meeting at Castello San Giorgio.
Fees and booking
Participation costs 50 euros for the full week or 12 euros for a single day. Booking is required.
