Finally, I stumbled upon a true discovery of the century: a glue […] that was white, thick and stringy like condensed milk […] allowed me to do anything in the field of material coupling. The resulting collage consists of the deliberate and systematic deformation of the elements, repurposed from their usual use. Hence, a series of layering, mystifying winks and ironic confessions turn the experience of creation into a terrible game that builds almost to deny. Modern art, as a result, appears fragmentary and discontinuous, with the artwork serving as a fundamental inquiry into the mechanisms that govern its very creation. Fabrics, wadding and glass were the elements of my first collages and altered the course of my painting, which takes shape on what I would define as a “childlike or primary magic”.
