Friday 3 July at CAMeC: the first event with Massimo Bartolini, Linda Fregni Nagler, Rocco Mussat and Elena Volpato
On Friday 3 July, at 6.30 pm, we launch The Beyond. Conversation with the Artists, a series of meetings dedicated to exploring the themes, works and perspectives of the exhibition Rethinking Romanticism in Contemporary Art, curated by Elena Volpato.
The artists in conversation with the curator
The protagonists of the first event will be artists Massimo Bartolini and Linda Fregni Nagler, whose works are featured in the exhibition. They will be in conversation with Rocco Mussat, president of the Giovanni Anselmo Archive, and with curator Elena Volpato. The meeting will offer visitors the opportunity to enter the exhibition through the direct voices of the artists and to explore the relationships between the works on display, contemporary artistic research and the legacy of Romantic thought.
The idea of the “beyond”
The title of the event, The Beyond, recalls one of the central lines of reflection proposed by the exhibition: the tension towards what exceeds the visible, towards the limit, towards landscape understood not only as a subject, but as a place of questioning, experience and transformation of the gaze. It is a dimension that runs through Romantic sensibility and continues to speak powerfully to the present of contemporary art. From this comes our desire to guide the public into the poetic and conceptual core of the exhibition, encouraging an open dialogue between artists, curator and visitors.
An opportunity for further insight
With this first event, we aim to create an opportunity for knowledge, participation and deeper understanding: a way to experience the exhibition from a closer perspective and to listen to the voices of those whose artistic research contributes today to renewing the idea of landscape, vision and imagination.
