Approaching painting today means, first and foremost, to free it from its “traditional” attributes i.e. its symbolic, autobiographical, literary and metaphorical meanings. It means reinventing it, objectifying it, distancing it from itself, and use it to offer the viewers/users a hint for a common search, rather than presenting them a truth that the author cannot possess because it does not exist. Ultimately, I take on the role of the viewer myself, as it is inevitable in the use of any language. For this reason, the painting can no longer be considered an autonomous and isolated entity, but must be placed within a in a series, within a process in becoming , so that a mental relationship can be established and lived emotionally. Quale Pittura?, 1973
