From March 7 to 16, 2025, the CAMeC – Centre for Modern and Contemporary Art of La Spezia – will host a major new event for local art lovers: the group exhibition Pensieri d’artista. Sedici vite in cornice (Artist Thoughts. Sixteen Lives in a Frame). This exhibition, a true collective expression of local creativity, is an initiative of the newspaper La Nazione, which has gathered the reflections of sixteen local artists in a book. The protagonists of the event will be the works of these painters and sculptors, offering a rich portrait of the local art scene through their diverse sensibilities and modes of expression.
Opening and Visiting Hours
The inauguration is set for 6:30 PM on Friday, March 7, immediately following the presentation of the book Pensieri d’artista. Sedici vite in cornice (Artist Thoughts. Sixteen Lives in a Frame), which will be distributed free of charge with La Nazione on Saturday, March 8.
The exhibition will be open to visitors from Tuesday to Sunday, from 10 AM to 6 PM, with free admission.
Exhibiting Artists
Over time, each of the sixteen artists has carved out a space in the art world. However, they have never before been brought together in a collective exhibition.
Pensieri d’artista. Sedici vite in cornice (Artist Thoughts. Sixteen Lives in a Frame) thus offers a unique opportunity.
Within a large gallery designed to highlight both differences and affinities, visitors will journey through a spectrum of artistic expression: from the masters associated with the historic Premio del Golfo (Bellani, Tomaino, and Vaccarone, whose previously unseen Forma che muta will be on display) to those exploring experimental languages (D’Anteo, Benassi, and Cossu), as well as other significant figures of the local art scene (Casentini, Colombani, Tedoldi, Viani, Braida, Baricchi, Angèi, Puliti, Mismas, and Tacchini).
A Cultural Project by La Nazione
Pensieri d’artista. Sedici vite in cornice (Artist Thoughts. Sixteen Lives in a Frame) is the natural continuation of a journalistic endeavor that began with an interview by journalist Chiara Tenca with Francesco Vaccarone. The idea of gathering and showcasing the voices of Spezzina artists evolved into an editorial project curated by Roberta Della Maggesa, head of La Nazione, and now takes shape as an exhibition that brings both stories and artworks to the public through a fresh perspective.
