Mappe mentali

Telling the city through shared perspectives
CAMeC BOOKS | Friday, April 24, 6 PM | Free admission

On Friday, April 24 at 6 PM, we host a new event in the CAMeC BOOKS series dedicated to Mappe mentali, an open meeting to explore alternative ways of telling the city. The event, moderated by Silvia Sangriso, features the association Sottotraccia, presenting its editorial project focused on the relationship between people, places, and memory.

Telling the city beyond traditional maps
How many cities exist within a single city? And in how many ways can it be experienced and narrated? We start from these questions to open up a perspective that goes beyond conventional representations, making room for personal stories, everyday experiences, and emotional geographies.

A project between memory and participation
At the heart of the talk is the work of the association Sottotraccia, which highlights the connection between individual memory and collective storytelling. An approach that weaves together experiences, paths, and different points of view, offering a broader and more layered narrative of the territory.

A map built together
During the event, we present a co-participatory map conceived as an open and constantly evolving space. We invite the public to contribute by indicating meaningful places, memories, personal routes, and significant spaces connected to the city. The map will be distributed free of charge in limited copies, with the aim of activating over time a collective narrative capable of gathering multiple perspectives, beyond conventional tourist narratives.
