On Sunday, April 6 at 4:00 p.m., the CAMeC – Centre of Modern and Contemporary Art of La Spezia will turn into a special workshop designed for children. An afternoon of art, play and creativity, part of the programme “Learning while having fun in museums and libraries”.
A sensory experience to bring children closer to art
The initiatives dedicated to children and families in the city’s museums and libraries continue. On Sunday, April 6 at 4:00 p.m., CAMeC will host “Seeing with your hands”, a creative and sensory workshop for children aged 5 to 11.
The activity is part of the programme promoted by the City Administration and curated by the Civic Museums and the Urban Library System, with the aim of making art accessible, enjoyable and engaging from an early age.
The cost of the workshop is €5 per child and registration is mandatory.
Discovering art through touch
During the workshop, children will experiment with a different way of “looking” at a work of art: through touch. Using a tactile board reproducing the key elements of Renato Guttuso’s painting The Boys Looking for Crabs, participants will discover how it is possible to “read” an image with their hands.
The experience will continue in the workshop with the creation of a personal tactile board, which each child can take home as a creative and sensory souvenir of the activity.
