Fotosintesi in blu. Cyanotype Workshop for Children

On Saturday, March 7, from 3.30 pm to 5.30 pm, an educational workshop for children aged 7 to 12 dedicated to cyanotype, led by Claudia Rifaldi.

On Saturday, March 7, from 3.30 pm to 5.30 pm, we invite children aged 7 to 12 to take part in Fotosintesi in blu, an educational workshop led by Claudia Rifaldi and inspired by the exhibition Fotosintesi. Starting from the observation of the works on display, we will experiment together with cyanotype, an early photographic technique, transforming leaves and plant forms into botanical prints in deep shades of blue. The cost is €15 per child (€10 for Amici del CAMeC members). Booking is required by writing to amicidelcamec@camec.sp.it.

From the Exhibition to the Workshop

Beginning with the works featured in the exhibition, children will encounter the vision of photographers such as Karl Blossfeldt and Anna Atkins, a pioneer of cyanotype. Together we will explore how plant forms can become images, crossing the boundaries between science, art and visual experimentation.

The Magic of Cyanotype

Guided by Claudia Rifaldi, participants will experiment with one of the earliest photographic techniques in history. Through light exposure and the use of natural elements, they will create botanical prints characterised by their intense blue colour, discovering in a hands-on way the process that transforms an object into an imprint.

Observation, Creativity, Hands-on Practice

Throughout the activity, children will be guided step by step in the use of materials and the different stages of the process. The workshop combines careful observation, creative expression and manual skills, offering an engaging and educational experience.
