Creative workshop for children inspired by Futurist aeropainting
On Sunday, November 30 at 4:00 p.m., we open a window onto the Gulf of Poets with an event from the program Divertiamoci imparando nei Musei e nelle Biblioteche (Let’s Have Fun Learning in Museums and Libraries).
Prospettive in volo (Perspectives in Flight) is not just a workshop, but a small journey into the Futurist vision of the world — one in which the landscape is not simply looked at, but crossed.
Designed for children aged 6 to 11, the activity lasts about an hour and a half (fee: €5 per participant, booking required at didattica@camec.sp.it or by calling 0187 727530).
Seeing the Gulf through the Eyes of Futurism
The experience begins with the observation of the Futurist works on display, and in particular the triptych Simultaneità magiche del Golfo (Magical Simultaneities of the Gulf) by Pippo Oriani, recently added to the CAMeC’s permanent collection.
In this work, the Gulf of La Spezia breaks apart and recomposes into trajectories, lines, and lights that seem to draw speed itself: not a still landscape, but a body in motion.
Participants will be guided to explore this elevated perspective, a meeting point between land, sky, and sea in a dance of forms, where flight becomes a way of thinking even before it becomes a way of seeing.
Creating a Vision of the Gulf
In the second part of the workshop, children will transform what they have observed into their own personal vision of the Gulf.
They will use photographic reproductions of the territory, which will be cut, rearranged, and combined to create a Futurist collage where perspectives multiply and imagination takes flight.
Let’s Have Fun Learning in Museums and Libraries
Perspectives in Flight is part of the program Let’s Have Fun Learning in Museums and Libraries, promoted by the Municipality of La Spezia, which invites children and families to experience cultural spaces as places of discovery and shared experience.
Each event in the series is an invitation to learn through play, to look with new eyes, and to feel art not as a lesson but as a living gesture — capable of sparking curiosity and wonder.
