During the workshop, participants will be guided by calligrapher and artist Caterina Giannotti through each stage of the creative process.<\/p>\n<h3>The creative journey<\/h3>\n<p>The workshop will begin with paper colouring and the creation of textures and marks, using both traditional and unconventional tools. It will continue with the addition of words, collages and graphic compositions, leading up to the assembly of the pages. The experience will conclude with binding, bringing to life a unique book as a direct expression of each participant\u2019s creativity.<\/p>\n<h3>Workshop calendar<\/h3>\n<p>The sessions will take place at CAMeC on Saturday afternoons, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>18 October<\/strong> \u2013 paper colouring and first marks<\/li>\n<li><strong>25 October<\/strong> \u2013 textures, composition and mark-making inspired by nature; insertion of letters, words or images<\/li>\n<li><strong>8 November<\/strong> \u2013 arrangement and composition of the pages that will form the book<\/li>\n<li><strong>22 November<\/strong> \u2013 final binding of the books<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Who is Caterina Giannotti<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Caterina Giannotti<\/strong> graduated in Architecture in Florence and has always nurtured a deep passion for art and graphic design. For many years she has dedicated herself to historical and experimental calligraphy, combining personal research with the promotion of handwriting and the values it embodies.<br \/>She leads workshops and courses for both adults and children, and in the field of gestural calligraphy she has explored a wide range of techniques, often bringing her work close to pure mark-making. She has taken part in group exhibitions of calligraphy, illustration and printmaking.<br \/>She is a founding member of <em>SMED \u2013 Writing by Hand in the Digital Era<\/em> and serves on the board of directors of <em>CIAC \u2013 International Center for Calligraphic Arts<\/em>.
